BITS & PIECES

This entry is like the last in that instead of a continuous, coherent thought running through it, it's more like snippets of things, but that's what's happening in my life right now.

I should finish the big script I mentioned in the last entry tomorrow. I'm waiting to hear feedback on 3 other projects. I'm wrapping up my foreign distribution. Tonight, a friend and I are going to Cocktails with the Stars for a few drinks (come join us if you can!), then we're going to see HELLBENT, that gay slasher flick (those of you who know me know I'm a horror film freak), and I've got several errands to run this morning.

Man, I am looking forward to this weekend to relax. For a belated Christmas present, my husband gave me a video projector. We set up a 12'x7' screen in the backyard so I have my own drive-in theater. Some of my favorite childhood memories took place at the drive-in, where I saw movies like FROGS, GODZILLA VS. THE SMOG MONSTER, COUNT YORGA VAMPIRE, BATMAN, PLANET OF THE APES and TWO ON A GUILLOTINE. I saw my first R-rated movies, a double-feature of FLESH GORDON and KENTUCY FRIED MOVIE, with my best friends from high school. It was our first time out, just ourselves, with no supervision, and I felt a sense of freedom that I'd never felt before or since.

Anyway, my latest joy is to get the hot tub bubbling, pick a fun movie to watch, and sit and soak while I watch Frankenstein's monster fight the Wolf Man or Sherlock Holmes defeat the Scarlet Claw or Vincent Van Patten run around a spooky house on Hell Night in just his boxers. i bought a pair of authentic drive-in speakers and hooked them up to a receiver so the sound pipes out through them. Bliss.

I hope everyone has an equally relaxing weekend.
