YOU ASKED! I ANSWER! PART 2: TWO FROM THE SHOUTBOX
Have you ever worked with Mark Kroner? Is he as horny as he looks?
I was the cameraman on DEEPER THROAT for MSR Videos. The scene with MARK KRONER was very hot, as I recall. He had a real passion and intensity that just sucked you in (for some, literally!) His scene with YORK POWERS, TRENTON COMEAUX and STEVE SCOTT sizzles, and I had a real hard-on going when Mark got fucked on the pool table. I remember him telling "director" TONY ALIZZI that he wouldn't be able to bottom for too long, as he was primarily a top, but he took it like the hot, sweaty sex pig that he is.
One thing that I remember about DEEPER THROAT was the end of the film. There's a big orgy outside where a group of guys are concentrating on Trenton Comeaux and PETER WILDER. The guys are about to come, and Peter opens his mouth. Having safe sex guidelines drilled into my head by SAM ABDUL, I quickly shouted for Peter to close it. He did, and cum splattered all over his face. Tony was immediately right on me.
TONY: "Why did you tell him to close his mouth?!"
ME: "Well, it's not safe sex, is it?"
TONY: "He agreed to do it!"
ME: "It's not about whether he agreed to do it, it's about safety."
TONY: "He wasn't going to swallow it! He was just going to let them cum in his mouth!"
ME: "Oh."
TONY: "Now it's all over, and we lost it!"
He stomped away, leaving me to wonder if I did the right thing. This would be the first of MANY confrontations Tony and I had while I worked for him, most of which were about his being threatened by anyone who heightened his feelings of directorial inadequacy. He liked having me on set doing his camera and editing because I'd already been in the industry several years. When a problem raised its head, and his best friend JACK FRANCIS wasn't there, he always came running to me, asking me what he should do. I'd give him one or two options, and he'd use them to solve the problem. But within an hour, he'd corner me somewhere out of earshot of everyone else and accuse me of trying to usurp his authority or make him look bad. I would tell him I was only doing my job, which was to make his movies look good, and offering help when he asked for it. He'd tell me that he had spent 20 years in the film and TV industry and that he was not wet behind the ears. Once, I looked right into his eyes and asked him what the 180-degree rule was (I won't go into it, but it's one of the most basic rules of filmmaking). He stared at me for several seconds, then stormed off. Someday I'll go into my rollercoaster relationship with Mr. Alizzi in more detail.

I first saw MARK SLADE when DAN CROSS of All Worlds Video asked me to do a fast edit job on THOR STEPHEN's new video BI ALL-AMERICAN. He did a straight scene where he played a jock in a varsity sweater having sex with a waitress at a diner. I was instantly taken aback by this tall, handsome stud with the big dick, and when I started my own company, Red Devil, I wanted him to be in the first movie, THE BOMBARDIER. We talked at length on the phone, and he seemed like a nice guy. He had been hurt by the straight industry, after doing a few gay movies, he found that the straight companies refused to hire him. He had wanted a career where he could actively work in both, but he was being blacklisted by the straight side. This is a wound that smarts with him to this day.
Anyway, for THE BOMBARDIER, we talked about the possibility of him bottoming in the movie. He was hesitant, as he said he'd never had ANYTHING go up there. Not even a finger! But, he was willing to do it for a price. A price, that, unfortunately, was too high. So, I had to look elsewhere, and finally decided on BRETT COLLINS, who I'd worked with on the set of MSR's L.A. SEX PARTY. Brett was kind of lost in the shuffle in that film, but here he did a one-on-one with ANDREW ADDAMS, and he bottomed for the first time in a standout scene.
Mark then left the industry, moved away and got into the real estate business. Fast forward to now. Out of the blue, he called me to tell me that he was coming back, and he wanted to work for me. It just so happened that I was planning FATHER/SON OUTING, and thought he'd be perfect for the part of the jock father who couldn't understand why his son was drifting away from him. I told him I was interested in casting him, BUT—the biggest complaint I had read in reviews of his films was that his performances were often described as "awkward" and "wooden". I told him that if he wasn't comfortable having sex with men, that he shouldn't even attempt a comeback. He excitedly told me that he was a LOT more comfortable with gay sex, and that he was eager to show me what he could do, so I hired him. His sex scene in the movie is worlds above what he has done before. His enthusiasm, energy and comfort really impressed me, and I think it will, you, too.
Will he ever bottom? Maybe, some day. He told me that in the years since we first talked about it, he has...taken a finger.
"Man, it felt weird!" he gushed. lol.
