A SQUIRT OF CORBIN MICHAELS

Happy 2006, everyone! Thanks for being patient on my posts. I've been pretty busy, but am now trying to get caught up. As you can see, my blog has been revamped a little. Hope you like it.

From the Shoutbox: What was it like working with hottie Corbin Michaels?



I first saw Corbin's picture on his agent's website and was immediately struck by his handsome face, chiseled abs and big schlong. I knew I wanted to work with him, but didn't have a project in which to do so. I'd see reviews of him in other films and think "I've GOT to get this guy in a movie for me!" It was in one of these reviews that I saw a picture of Corbin's butt, which is perfection, and saw it being used in a Chi Chi movie. I don't recall the title, but I remember the review saying that Corbin took a pounding. My body must have been rocked with shivers.

Red Devil had released THE BEST OF JASON RIDGE compilation, and I was trying to think of what video to do next. I was toying with the idea of starting a new line, one that would emphasize sex over story, as opposed to Red Devil's emphasis on story over sex. I decided to go ahead with it, and SweatShop Video was born. But what would be the first title?

I've always had a fascination with how dominant roles tend to align themselves with certain "types". For example, in videos, guys who are older/brunette/hairy/black/taller usually dominate or top the guys who are younger/blonde/smooth/white/shorter. I love to turn such expectations on their ears (or rears), so I decided that the first SweatShop movie would feature tall guys bottoming for short guys. I knew Corbin was 5'5", so this would give me the perfect opportunity to work with him and FEATURE him, as well.



First, I set the film's ground rules. All the tops must be 5'6" or shorter, and all the bottoms must be 6' or taller. Corbin would be the star, and I wanted him to be in two scenes. Next, to find his partners. The tallest porn star I knew was JACK SANDERS, who was 6'4". I knew Jack was versatile and had worked with him in STRAIGHT TO BED for Arena Entertainment. I thought it would be fun to see a 6'4" guy bottoming for a 5'5" one. Corbin's agent checked with him (I like to make sure the models are attracted to each other before casting them to make sure there will be SOME heat there), and he said yes. I thought Corbin's second scene should be a three-way. Corbin would dominate Jack, and I wanted him to do the same to his two partners in the final scene, so I found the willing in JASON CREW and DICK JAMES. Now, I think I've talked about Jason Crew before. A really sweet guy with the attention span of a hummingbird. I'd worked with Dick once on All Worlds' MOUNT JACK, where I did camera. Dick was on the quiet side, but seemed a competent performer. Plus, he was 6'2". I hired him through his agent and made all the arrangements through him. Dick got lost on his way to the studio and had to call to get directions. The owner, the late Bob Gallagher, told him how to get there then fended off questions from Dick, including "How much am I getting paid?"

Corbin was already there and ready to go (although I was taken by surprise when I saw that he had pierced nipples, something I hadn't noticed in his pictures. He said they were recently done and if he removed them, which he would do, albeit regrettably, he would have to have them re-pierced because the holes would close up immediately. I let him keep them in.), and Jason was having a glamour layout shot when Dick arrived. He introduced himself to me, then in practically the same breath, asked me what I was paying him. I told him I had worked that out with his agent and gave him the amount. Dick said that he didn't know it was a three-way, and that he should get more money (which I don't understand: a scene is a scene. It lasts as long, generally, as a normal scene, so the same amount of footage is shot. Who cares if you suck one dick for ten minutes or ten dicks for one minute each? It's the same amount of work and should carry the same price). I told him his agent knew it was a three-way, and there was no more money to give (which was true—I was stretched to the limit budget-wise). Dick called his agent, and when Jason got wind of it, he called HIS agent, too, although why, I'm not sure. At any rate, both guys must have gotten quite a talking-to, because the two of them dutifully trotted back to the set, announcing that they were ready to start. We shot the scene, and everyone seemed to have a great time. I made sure to use the camera to show off Corbin's abs and especially his butt, even though it remained untouched in this film.

Now, Corbin is on the shy side. I'm not sure if he knew anyone on the set or not, but he talked very little and kept mostly to himself. If you listen to him speak in his dialogue scene with SEAN STEELE, that is pretty much how he talks. Even when he's being assertive, there's trepidation in his voice. But he never gave me any problems and seemed to appreciate that he was being made the star of the film.

The day we shot Corbin's scene with Jack, the second scene was to be DILLON PRESS and ANDREW ADDAMS, but Andrew called me an hour beforehand to cancel. Corbin suggested his roommate JOHNNY LAW, who was 5'6". I'd seen pictures of him and thought he would work, so Corbin tracked him down and had him come over. Saved!

I had taken pictures of the smaller guys hugging a wall with the purpose of using them for the box cover. I had a specific concept in mind, which was this:



You see, before the movie was called SQUIRT, I was going to call it JACK THE GIANT KILLER. I've spoken before of how my love for old B-movies sometimes influences my choices (MARS NEEDS MEN, anyone?). But my new distributor, Channel 1 Releasing, didn't care for the title, and besides, most reviewers seem thrown for a loop when you reference something that's TOO obscure or clever and not "sexy". That's not a slam. It's just been my experience (of course, the problem could lie directly with me and not them, but then it would be my fault and that's just not possible. lol). So I decided to change the title to TALL STORY, then TALL TALES, then TALL TAILS. Channel 1 checked for me and found no fewer then THREE other movies (including one JEFF STRYKER) about to come out with that title. So TALL TAILS became HOW'S THE SEX UP THERE? (for about 3 seconds), then BIG BOTTOMS, then HIGH POCKETS before the universe took pity on me and made me think of SQUIRT. But now, the dvd cover wouldn't work. It just didn't go with the new title. But I liked it a lot, so I decided to use it for the back. The front would have to be re-shot. I just needed an idea.

I also wanted to create the SweatShop logo, so I asked Corbin to come to my house and let me shoot his torso. I also invited MARIO CRUZ for the same reason, so I would have a choice. Both men had great pecs and abs and would make for excellent models. Corbin arrived first wearing a baseball cap, as I'd told his agent that his head wouldn't be shot, only his chest. Corbin smeared baby oil on his body, then my husband took the pictures, and as he snapped away, I looked at my staircase and suddenly got an idea. I had recently watched CLERKS and the movie poster had stuck in my mind: a high-angle shot looking down at the cast. Stairway. Here. Camera. Here. Corbin. Here. Squirt. BINGO!

I told Corbin that I would be seeing his head, after all, and he went into the bathroom to fix his hair. While he did that, we took pictures and video of Mario Cruz. There was some tension between the two men, so I kept them apart. Something to do with a stolen boyfriend. These boys! I eventually liked the logo with both guys, so I used Corbin's chest for the still logo, and Mario's for the video logo.



Mario left, and I gave Corbin a blank sheet of paper. My hubby and I stood on the stairs looking down at Corbin in his underwear and had him hold the paper over his head. Perfect. The high angle gave the title SQUIRT its wink, and Corbin's pose was a total look of defiance. Awesome. Later, I'd learn that the dvd was lying on a desk at Channel 1, and Chi Chi thought it was a mainstream movie when she saw it. Yay!



The next time I worked with Corbin was on YOUNG HUSBANDS ON THE DOWN LOW for Arena. To be fair, Corbin was not my first choice for the role, but the guy I was using (I forget who it was) backed out. Corbin's agent suggested him to me, and I thought he'd be great. We shot in Palm Springs at the house of Dillon Press for two days. Corbin showed up with Johnny Law the night before his scene, and the entire cast, crew and myself went out to dinner at a restaurant called (appropriately enough) Wang's. Great Chinese food. I sat at one end of the table and Corbin and Johnny sat to my left. While we waited for the food to arrive, they kept to themselves, text-messaging each other on their cell phones and giggling like schoolgirls.



The next day, we shot Corbin's scene first. He had some dialogue to do, then he jumped into a four-way with NICK CAPRA, TROY PUNK and ROB ROMONI. Nick, Troy and Rob stood on the edge of a large fountain while Corbin went from one to the other, sucking their dicks. During a break, I heard him say wistfully that he always had to service everyone when there were groups, and I thought back to the concept of SQUIRT. I decided to give him a break and for the next part of the scene, I had the three tops take turns rimming Corbin. When it came time to do the fucking, I was particularly excited about seeing Corbin bottom in person.



He let Troy top him, but balked when it came to Nick. He said that his hole was sore from Troy's attention and NIck, being largely endowed, would hurt him. He also said they'd done several scenes together. I got the impression that there was more to it than that (another stolen boyfriend, maybe?) and decided to let it go. Rob, unfortunately, wasn't able to top Corbin, so I had Troy continue, even into the second position. After we finished the scene, Corbin and I went into a quiet bedroom, and I shot his voice-over dialogue. After the last line, Corbin looked at me and said, "I really like working for you. You make it all so easy." Aw, shucks.

I asked Corbin how his friend and roommate Johnny Law was doing, and Corbin ground his teeth together and said they weren't friends any more. I didn't delve.), but I hope an occasion comes along to work with Corbin again, soon. I like the guy. I discovered that he's also been moonlighting as BRAEDEN over at SeanCody.com.

And seeing that ass getting plowed only once in person is definitely not enough. lol.
