PRE-PRODUCTION STORIES 2
Okay, let's backtrack a bit and talk about how this project got started. It happened last year in Chicago, when I was attending the Grabbys. I had gone to a party at Hydrate for Adonis Pictures, and it was there that DREW WARNER and TROY PUNK introduced me to Bill, the guy in charge at Adonis. They gushed over me to Bill, who was concentrating on something else, but we exchanged cards. I also met JEREMY SPENCER, the 2nd in charge, who knew of me and my reputation.
Fast-forward to last year. Those of you who've been reading my blog for a while know the story of MYSTERY MAN and how it ballooned from an average-budgeted picture to a swollen epic and got put on the back burner. I was sure I'd blown my chance at Adonis, but over lunch with Jeremy, I pitched him two new ideas that could be done for the price they wanted. The one Jeremy liked was about a cast of porn stars who shows up at a remote location to do a shoot, only to find that they've been set up as quarry for a psychopathic hunter and must now escape with their lives. A few days later, Jeremy called to tell me that he knew of a warehouse where we could shoot the movie instead of an outdoor location. This got my mind to working and soon, the idea had morphed itself into something different. What if, instead of a full cast of 8 or 9 guys trying to escape the warehouse, there was only one? What if, instead of a big game hunter, it was a serial killer?
Jeremy loved the altered idea, and I wrote the script. I cast Bobby Williams as LEE, a young man trapped in a warehouse by a mysterious figure known only as BONESAW, who taunts him with the promise of escape, if he can solve three sets of puzzles involving men having sex. Meanwhile, TWO POLICE DETECTIVES are contacted by Lee's ex-boyfriend, PAT, a psychic, who can't convince them that Lee is in danger.
We have some funky props for the scenes: a vertical cage, a forklift, handcuffs and my favorite, a handheld circular saw. A few guys who've been cast are JOEY MILANO, KYLE LEWIS, BRETT MATHEWS, JASON TIYA and MARK HANSFORD.
It should be fun.
