Rodney Fitch, known to gay porn watchers as DEVON BARRY, was someone I really wanted to work with. I'd been a cameraman on POOL PARTY, a video he did for Hollywood Sales, and I was a big fan of his work in ANDEL IN AMERICA, TELLING TALES, SUMMER LOVERS and the PORN STRUCK videos.

BRINGING OUT BROTHER (All Worlds) was my favorite video of his, playing into what I think was Devon's perfect onscreen persona: the dreamy, gentle lover. His scene with ROD BARRY was amazing. When Rod inched his dick up inside Devon, the younger man rode it with a passion and tender urgency.

On the set of POOL PARTY, I talked with Devon a bit, and he told me he lived in Florida and that he had a daughter, who he loved more than anything else in the world. It had been a friend of his, he said, and he had gotten fucked that first time, realizing how much he liked it.

I had wanted to direct him myself. I had the perfect movie. A road trip through the desert between two very different men. Devon would have played the driver, a tough, world-weary young man with a penchant for deadly games. He would have been perfect.
