In scouting around on the net (all right, I was ego-surfing, okay? And the worst thing about calling yourself JETT BLAKK is that when you do searches on your own name, you have to weed through all the hits that bring up JOAN JETT BLAKK. Sigh.), I've discovered a lot of other blog sites, some good, some so-so, and I thought I'd start a sporadic series on them.

Today I want to talk about Gay Porn Talk (gayporntalk.com). This gay news/porn review site is hosted by two lovable goofballs, EVAN and PAULIE (left and right, above), who record themselves talking then post their conversations on their site as podcasts, about every five days. An intriguing idea.

The first thing you can tell about these guys is that they're having FUN. They chat back and forth with the ease of good friends, laughing and at almost everything each other says (it’s Evan with the contagious giggle). When I listen, I can't help but smile. It really is one of the more inventive, original and fun blogs out there.

They usually begin by catching the listener up on their lives, both sexual and personal. Then they go into the news, reporting and commenting on the events that affect our community. They give each news item a paragraph or two with the kind of commentary you won’t hear at Fox News or CNN. Unless the cameras aren’t rolling in Shepard Smith’s or Anderson Cooper’s dressing rooms. Allegedly.

You can also tell they know their porn. They review two videos per podcast, rating them by splats. This is usually the highlight of each show, as their comments on the videos are usually right on the mark with hilarious banter boosting the whole experience. Hell, some of their reviews made me want to go back and watch some of my OWN movies again!

They also review sex toys, often relating details of taking it for a test drive. You won’t find that at Consumer Reports, except during the night shift in their warehouse.

They also review music, do matchmaking, answer e-mails and give advice, all in a whirlwind of snips, quips and giggles.

So give their site a try! And tell them Jett Blakk (not Joan) sent you.
