STR8 OFF THE BASE NEARS ITS END

I should finish editing STR8 OFF THE BASE 3 today. It wasn't as quick and easy an edit job as I thought it'd be. Five scenes, plenty of footage, but each scene is a little different than the others. Now, most movies have one director and a crew throughout the entire shoot. But this movie was evidently shot when models became available, and so, each scene has a different cameraman and crew (I guess as THEY were also available), which has resulted in each scene having a very different and distinct look. One scene is shot with warm lights, another with blue and green gels, giving it a cooler look. A third is outdoors by the pool lit with daylight, while a different scene is underlit with lots of shadows and yet another has the key light dramatically off to one side.

This is the third film in a series, and while I've tried to mimic the editing style of the first two, it still remains a different beast, as the varying styles set it apart from its predecessors.

With the Labor Day weekend upon us, I will take it into Channel 1 for approval on Tuesday, then wait to see if they want any changes.

In the meantime, the clock is ticking. I HAVE to decide on an idea for the next Red Devil movie. I think I know what it will be, but the story isn't coming to me easily this time. I don't want it to be a talking heads movie, and finding an isolated desert or a beach location where I can shoot at night with a small campfire is proving incredibly difficult.
