SAN FRANCISCO: DAY 1

After being in the business for 10 years, I decided that I should introduce myself to the San Francisco companies and say hello. I escaped L.A. at 7:30am with a quick kiss to CVK and a pat on the heads of Jekyll and Hyde. I zipped up the 5, getting through before they closed it for the brushfire, and arrived at Hot House studios at 12:45.

Paul, the receptionist, asked me if I wanted to use the men's room, and I emphatically answered yes. Then after washing my hands, he took me upstairs to meet STEVEN SCARBOROUGH, dressed in orange and white,..the Hot House colors. Steven is a great, great guy. Very smart and very serious about porn. He approaches it the same way I do, which is as a fan making videos for fans.

We chatted about the industry, and he gave me a copy of JUSTICE, their new release, along with a HotHouse calendar and brochure, then we went on a tour of the offices. I was very impressed. Steven and his partner BRENT bought me lunch, then Steven drove me over to their shooting studio, where I met his cameraman who was working with the set designer about where to place the flooring and a newly-acquired barber's chair for a future production.

Saying goodbye, I drove over to my hotel, the Best Western Americania, only turning the wrong way down a one-way street once.

The check-in fellow was nice, the room was small, the hotel staff and guests were loud, but it was nice to lie down. I had dinner at the in-hotel restaurant Peppers, which consisted of a lamb shank with garlic braised mushrooms and merlot while I read a paper loaned to me by the guy sitting nearby. The very cute waiter (who looked a lot like porn star FYERFLI) brought me blood orange sorbet for dessert. I went back to my room, took a shower and fell asleep.

Day 2 would be Falcon. More soon.
