HOW TO SEDUCE A STRAIGHT MAN: DAY 3

This was the final day of the shoot, and I'd had to schedule it 3 days after the last one to accomodate everyone. The location was a garage belonging to some friends of mine, and the first order of business for the day was to pick up the rental car. A quick trip to Budget, and they put a gorgeous steel grey Mustang convertible in my hands. I drove it into Hollywood to pick up makeup artist DAMON DEVINE. I was unable to find a production assistant for that day, so I was going to have to do a lot of the grunt work myself.

At the location, I nervously backed the Mustang into the garage, and hurrah! It fit. ANTHONY DURAN began a layout on CHRISTIAN OWEN, a hot little number I'd wanted to work with ever since I saw him at my birthday party 5 months ago. JORDAN VAUGHN showed up early and immediately won everyone over with his jovial personality. If you could put one more muscle on his body, I'm not sure where you'd find it.

Anthony shot a layout on Jordan, we took a quick break for lunch, and the scene began. Jordan and Christian are sitting in the convertible in the garage, which was to simulate a nighttime exterior at a drive-in theater. I had brought a video projector which I wanted to have playing on the inside of the garage door, so the change in light from shot to shot of the movie they'd be watching would reflect on them and maybe even the windshield, but there was too much light, and it didn't work. I had to make a decision: either darken the action to catch the reflection of the movie, or forget the movie and light the sex for nighttime. Easy choice.

I shot only the dialogue leading into the sex, because too much dialogue before a scene can rob the guys of their energy, and if I have to have energetic sex or energetic dialogue, I'll opt for the former. Christian went down on Jordan first, sucking the dimunitive bodybuilder who leaned his seat back so I could get the camera in there.

After getting enough footage, it was time for Jordan to return the oral favor, and he went down on his buddy.

After all the oral, we took a break, so Anthony could do stills of all the oral action. Things went very smoothly. The only real problem we had was that whenever we closed the garage door, we had to unplug the inside light, otherwise it would take 10 minutes to turn off. So a naked, erect Christian Owen would climb up on the car, pull the plug on the garage light, then climb back down into his seat for another mouthful of Mr. Vaughn.

After the break, it was time for anal. We discussed positions, but knew it was going to be tough: the car is supposed to be outside at a drive-in, not in a garage, therefore, the camera's frameline could not rise above the edge of the car. How could we do a fuck position, much less 2 of them, without seeing over the edge of the car and spoil the illusion?

I realized that I would have to shoot mostly downward in the same way I had in BRETT MATHEWS and ZACKARY PIERCE's scene on the first day. The first position was to have Christian bend over between the seats and put his forearms on the top of the windshield while Jordan stood behind him.

For the 2nd position, we pushed the front seats forward, had Jordan sit in the back while Christian sat on his dick, leaning back against the seats. Cum shot. Cum shot. We were done, and I had two very happy porn stars.

The guys got dressed again, and we shot the opening dialogue, in which Jordan discovers a surprise when he reaches into Christian's box of popcorn.

I wrote the guys their checks, paid the crew, loaded up my car and drove home. I unpacked, had CVK drive me back to the location where I got the convertible and drove it back to our house. I changed clothes, kissed him goodnight, grabbed my camera and headed off to a local drive-in theater for some B roll. Now, originally, I was going to take Christian and Jordan with me, but I realized that chances were, I couldn't get the shots I wanted without attracting attention to us, and since shooting video at a movie theater in California is illegal, I didn't want to drag the guys into it if anything went wrong.

So it was on a somewhat warm evening that I found myself racing to the show to shoot this footage. I arrived at the theater around 9:20 and drove up to the box office, the camera hidden away in the trunk. "Evening," the elderly gentleman selling tickets said. "Nice car."

"Thanks," I replied. "It's a rental, but I'd love to buy it. I'm loving driving this thing." Which was true.

"Which movie?" he asked.

"Theater 1. THE GRUDGE 2."

I handed him 6 dollars, and he gave me my ticket stub. "You look good in it," he said.

"Thanks," I replied, wondering if I really did.

So I drove into the parking lot where the first movie was finishing up. I found a parking space to my liking, far enough away from everyone else so I couldn't be detected when I did my monkey business, but still at a good advantage point to see the screen clearly.

And there I was, in a drive-in theater for the first time in over 10 years, sitting in a convertible with the top down, watching a movie with the sound coming through the radio speakers. I was in heaven. After a few minutes, I walked to the Snack Bar. I hadn't had any dinner, and I was hungry. The pickings were slim, but I got 2 cheese dogs, a Coke and a medium box of popcorn. It was dark as I returned to the car. Hard to see. There were 4 screens, each with their own parking lot, but there was hardly any light. Back at the Mustang, I put the food in the passenger seat and pulled the camera out of the trunk. I knew no one could see me, but I didn't know if the theater had any nightvision cameras around.

I left the camera in the back seat while I ate my food. The first movie ended, and the screen stayed dark for 10 minutes. That sucked. No trailers? No cartoons? Bah. Then THE GRUDGE 2 started. I pulled out my camera and got it ready, then immediately realized that there was a problem.

Now, I shoot with the Sony VX2000, which is incredibly light-sensitive. I've shot in low-light situations and had them look like a shiny dime. But this was different. There was virtually NO LIGHT except for what was coming from the screen, and that wasn't much. I got out of the car, walked about 20 feet away, then peered through the monitor to see what I could see, and that was...not a damn thing. It was too dark. I wasn't going to be able to get any exterior shots of the car or the drive-in. Shit.

So, I returned the camera to the back seat and decided to stay and watch the movie, which was a piece of garbage. You know me...I LIKE trashy horror movies. But GRUDGE 2 was so cliched and stupid, trying to add backstory it didn't need and basically showed the same thing over and over: the woman's ghost grabs someone, the woman's ghost grabs someone, the woman's ghost grabs someone—WAIT! The lady ghost's mother tells someone that her daughter had special powers...then she is grabbed by the woman's ghost. Then the woman's ghost grabs someone... Yuck.

The movie ended, and once outside the theater, I grabbed some shots of the drive-in's marquee and the entrance, which I can use.

I was a little chilly, but too stubborn to put the top up, and dying for a hot chocolate. The Snack Bar had closed about 15 minutes into the 2nd feature, and a quick side trip through the drive-throughs of 2 fast food joints resulted in no luck, so I headed home, arriving at 2am. I dragged my sorry ass upstairs, took a quick shower, then slid into bed next to CVK, who never woke up until his alarm clock crowed (it sounds like a rooster) at 5:15...just over 3 hours later. We both got up (once I wake up, I'm up), and I regrettably took the Mustang back. I was so sad. What a great car!

I started loading the footage from the shoot into the computer, and you can bet that I took a nap that afternoon!

I'm getting the cds of pics from both shoots tomorrow, so I'll be sure and post some on the next entry.
