My talks with BRUNO RICELLI at OhMan! Studios about shooting UNSPEAKABLE in HD got me to thinking that this is the way of the future, and let's get on the train at the first car instead of the caboose. Raging Stallion has been shooting in HD for some time, successfully, and some websites like SeanCody.com stream their content in HD. I decided to go for it.

The new HD camera arrived a few weeks ago, and I've been studying how to use it. I'm very excited about this new service I can offer studios for my freelance camerawork...as well as editing. I've been an Avid man for many years. It's what I trained on in film school. But the industry seems to be going Final Cut Pro, so I've decided to follow along, since they have excellent new HD editing software. Movies I edit soon will be cut with the new Final Cut Studio 2, which will allow me to edit and output HD product.

Now, everyone who's read these boards know that I am a huge movie fan, so what I am about to say shouldn't come as a big surprise, but the new HD camera and editing software have another feature...24p capability. What's that, you ask? Well, as some of you may know, video is shot at 30 frames per second (or fps) while film is shot at 24 fps. These new capabilities will allow me to shoot HD video at 24fps (called 24p) and give the movies the look of film! That's right. Soon, Red Devil's more "story-heavy" films won't just play like real movies, they'll LOOK like them too! Remember back in the 70's when porn was shot on film, then went to videotape? Everything had a "closed-circuit TV" look to it. Well, with 24p capability, that film look will be coming back with our new productions.

I've mentioned how people didn't connect that SweatShop Video and Red Devil were the same company, so I abandoned the SweatShop line. Movies with an emphasis on sex will continue to be made under the Red Devil label. But when we do a special, story-heavy film with that trademarked Jett Blakk touch, it will be presented as a Red Devil GOLD title, shot in HD at 24p to give it that motion picture feel. These movies will be events, and the Red Devil Gold label will distinguish them as such.

The first Red Devil Gold production is being developed now. Of course, those who come here will read about it first!
