For the past couple of weeks, I've been wrestling with plans to do a job shooting video in Vegas for a large corporation (okay, Micros*ft, —I signed a contract of non-disclosure). It was on again, off again, until the last minute. As a lot of you know, I do non-porn work, as well, and I always enjoy a chance to go to Vegas! They put me and my assistant up at the Mirage hotel, which was very nice, and the shoot was next door at Caesar's Palace, which I'd never been to before. It was breath-taking! I almost took a cellphone photo of the penis of the reproduction of Michaelangelo's David statue, but who here would want to see a footlong penis? lol

We had dinner at Joe's Steakhouse in the Forum Shops and the food was delicious. Then, it was off to a late show of Cirque de Soleil's "Zumanity", which I have to admit, was disappointing. I've seen other CdS shows, and this was more like a series of burlesque acts. Lots of tits, bums and the occasional penis. The best bit was two men, one white and one black and both gorgeous, stepping into a steel cage and doing an erotic ballet clad only in short shorts. At the end, they each clapped a hand on the other's neck and their faces were inches apart. The audience began screaming, "Do it!!" and they did—they kissed for several seconds while the audience went mad and began screaming and applauding. I was thrilled by that in conservative Vegas.

Next, we hit Japonais, a nicely lit little bar and lounge where we smoked cigars and had a few cocktails. After a brief verbal skirmish with the manager who wanted us to stub out our cigars (we won), it was bedtime.

The next morning, we hit the buffet and then off to the shoot, which was brief and painless. On the road home, I was fighting nodding off, so I stopped to get a couple of bottles of Big Red soda, which I gulped down. But I am fairly immune to caffeine, so it really didn't help much, and I nearly fell asleep 6 times! I am a threat to the highways as well as the hearts, minds and morals of the world, I guess (although I would not have vetoed adding sexual orientation to the Hate Crimes Act. I guess when you strip the constitution of its civil lierties, it's easy to deny equal rights and protections to a group of people you don't like anyway. Who's the moral victor there?).
