UNSPEAKABLE is one of those projects that has seen some craziness. Originally, we were supposed to shoot it back in May with EDDIE STONE in the lead, but it got postponed, and because of that, Eddie had to drop out. Then it was rescheduled for the 1st-3rd of August, but because I was so busy with FATHER KNOWS BEST (formerly STEPHEN), I just wasn't prepared to do it, so it got rescheduled again to the 2nd week in September. BUT there was a problem. A model that BRUNO RICCELLI, the owner of OHMAN! STUDIOS, wanted to appear in the film was going to be in town only until Aug. 6th. What to do? Finally, I made a decision: to shoot one day of the film on the 3rd, and the rest later.

And so it came to pass that last Friday, Aug. 3rd, I showed up at DREW WARNER's studio at 8:45 am. A very sleepy Drew answered the phone and said he'd buzz me in. The parking lot outside was full of other vehicles and a wardrobe truck with lots of people buzzing around. Drew told me a Neiman Marcus commercial was shooting upstairs. Great. For the rest of the day, it sounded like they were having 3-legged races on the ceiling. I can imagine the sound cleanup now. Fuck.

The rest of the crew appeared soon afterward: ANTHONY DURAN the still photographer, DAMON DEVINE the makeup artist, BOOMASTER the p.a. and TONY BISCOTTI, who was there to shoot softcore footage in case Bruno wanted a cable version. TY HUDSON and SEAN STEELE arrived together. You could feel the heat between these two. It was like an energy field. They had played a bit on the set of MASQUE, but now they were going to get to do a full scene together. While Damon got Ty into makeup, Boomaster discovered that a special guest of Drew's had spent the night in the studio bedroom with his boyfriend, a reality show celeb that Boo had the major hots for. I knew he'd be too preoccupied to focus on his work until after the two men finished with their shower. Boomaster said he saw his crush's bare ass and was on Cloud 69 for the rest of the day.

Bruno showed up with his business partner TOM in tow to supervise the model releases and give suggestions on pictures that should be taken for the box cover, like the following two:



Ty and Sean played Nazi grunt soldiers cutting yellow stars and pink triangles out of felt for concentration camp inmates. Ty playfully slaps a yellow star on Sean's chest, and Sean pulls it off, irritated. Ty does it again, and Sean again pulls it off. Then Ty slaps a pink triangle on Sean's chest. Sean looks at the gay symbol then at Ty, and we can see the fear in his eyes. He is gay and in the closet, and he has just outed himself. Ty smiles understandingly, and in a beautiful gesture, puts a triangle on himself, outing himself to Sean. The two men move closer and closer and then kiss, relieving all their pent-up sexual frustration and repression, knowing that they do so in full danger of being caught and banished to a camp. Ty was roguishly perfect and Sean did a amazing job, radiating fear and longing in his eyes. I think he almost began crying, and I did, too. It was a very hot, emotionally special scene (even though Ty took an HOUR to cum!), which will begin in black and white and turn to color once the sex starts. There was one major boo-boo, though. I wanted a red swastika on the wall behind the guys, so I took a piece of poster board and cut the symbol out, turning the board into a cookie (a lighting term for a large piece of board with designs cut into it for the purpose of creating a decorative series of shadows when you place it in front of a light). I hit the wall behind them with a red-gelled light and hung the swastika cookie in front of it. It looked great. Two-thirds of the way through the scene, I noticed to my embarassment that I had hung the cookie backwards, so that instead of a Nazi symbol, the reversed swastika was now a symbol of American Indian magic. My first thought was that I could simply flip the scene in editing, since there was nothing with writing on it in the scene, and it didn't matter if Ty was now on the right instead of on Sean's left. Then I realized that if I flipped the footage to fix the swastika on the wall, then the swastikas on their armbands would be reversed. Aargh! Well, I decided that we see the swastika on the wall more often than we see the armbands, so hopefully, no one will notice the error.

For lunch, Boomaster fetched us chicken wraps, and we started the second scene with ADAM FAUST, who you may remember from HOW TO SEDUCE A STRAIGHT MAN (available from REDDEVILSTORE.COM) and DUKE RIVERS, who had approached Bruno in Chicago back in May during IML.



We shot their scene in Drew's shower, and Adam had some dialogue first. Now, Adam has a cute but very pronounced lisp, so that his S's sound slushy. Knowing this, I wrote all his dialogue using as few S's as possible. I think he had a total of 5 words with that sound, and that was as few as I could manage. He did the dialogue just great, and then we started the sex. Shower sex isn't easy, as you've got water raining down on you while you're kissing and trying to suck dick, so you have to give a hot performance and try not to drown at the same time. Then, there's nothing to lie on for fucking except the floor, so it's not a jolly holiday for shooting. But both guys did a good job. Adam took about 20 minutes to give me a cum shot, but I think he was offput by all the water.

We wrapped and all went our merry ways at 7:00pm. The rest of the film is scheduled to shoot the 2nd week of September, but there's a location I have in mind which is only available during the month of August. CHRISTIAN OWEN is in one of the two remaining sex scenes, but is out of town until the 15th, and Bruno wants to be on the set but is unavailable from the 20th on, so that gives me a window of the 16th through the 19th to shoot. And the two leads are still not cast. Hopefully, I will lock them down this week.
